AbstractThe article examines the heuristic potential of the «individual cognitive space» (ICS) construct in relation to the phenomenon of educational deprivation in university students. The relevance of the topic is determined by the general trend in contemporary psychological science to rethink various processes, phenomena, and concepts through the lens of post-non-classical rationality. The theoretical framework is based on the works of V. E. Klochko, O. V. Lukyanov, V. I. Kabrin, and N. I. Nelyubin, carried out within the tradition of systemic anthropological psychology. This study aims to provide a theoretical and methodological substantiation of the «individual cognitive space» (ICS) construct as a dynamic, self-organising system that ensures the selectivity of human interaction with the information environment, and to identify its heuristic potential for understanding the process of formation of the student’s cognitive sphere in the context of modern higher education. The hypothesis of the study is that the «individual cognitive space» construct possesses heuristic potential, which is manifested in the expansion of research perspective and the integration of cognitive-functional and existential-semantic levels of analysis. This allows us to view the student’s cognitive sphere and educational trajectory not as reducible to the mere accumulation of knowledge, acquisition of competencies, or formal completion of academic tasks, but as a life act — a mode of being of the person in its entirety, embodied in the interaction of the «human-education» systems, where the learning process is inseparable from value-semantic self-determination, identity, and the construction of one’s own life world. The study establishes that individual cognitive space is a transsubjective dynamic space that emerges in continuous person — environment communication. Prospects for further research include the development of diagnostic tools to assess the dynamics of ICS, the creation of platform-based solutions to capture student initiative, and the design of interventions aimed at restoring the synchronization of individual cognitive space with the educational environment. The application of this construct to contemporary educational problems, including the problem of educational deprivation identified here, holds heuristic potential both from a phenomenological perspective and in terms of identifying further trajectories and vectors for investigating and intervening in these situations.
